Moses and Friendgirl

I have already shared in this post about Chase having a "friendgirl."
Things have apparently gotten more serious than anyone knew.

PawPaw (Jeremy's Dad) took Chase to the park the other day and PawPaw watched Chase follow this blonde girl around. She was a few years older than Chase and did not pay him much attention.

When the two guys got back in the car, PawPaw teased Chase by saying, "Chase, I forgive you for following that little girl around and not playing with me."

Chase's response any time you say the words "I forgive you" is "I forgive you too." Usually, the person Chase says that to has done nothing wrong.

Once Chase said that he forgave PawPaw too then PawPaw said, "Why are you forgiving me? I did not follow a girl around. I am a married man. I have a wife."

Chase surprised his PawPaw by saying, "I have a wife too."

PawPaw was not caught up on my blog and did not know about Friendgirl.
He said to his grandson, "What? You are not married."

Chase calmly replied, "Yes, I am married but I don't want to talk about it right now but I will tell you that she is part of the Jones family."

{Her last name is not really Jones but I am careful about Friendgirl's identity}

I direct a children's musical every Christmas at our church. Several times, in the past, there was a need for a manger scene in the musical and I always used the preschool class in our church. I have not needed a manger scene since Chase has been in that class.....until this year.

I told Chase that possibly he and possibly friendgirl or one of his other gal pals might be Joseph and Mary in the Nativity Scene.

Chase's response: "Well, I am just not feeling Joseph right now. I am thinking that maybe I should be Moses. I really just need to yell, 'Let My People Go!'"

I was concerned, amused, and confused all at the same time.
Then, I found out that his class is doing an in depth study on the life of Moses.

Did that last sentence make Chase sound like he was part of a Beth Moore Bible Study or what?

Moses is like a rock star in Chase's eye right now. I had a hard time explaining to Chase that Moses has been long gone by the time Jesus was born.

I am sure that I will have more to share in the future about the upcoming Nativity scene.

Chase's teacher at church told me about an incident concerning Chase and friendgirl recently.

Chase tried to ride on the spinning ride with friendgirl except the f.g. wanted to ride it by herself. I can't blame her a bit. Chase can really get up all in your personal space. We have been working with him on that but have not been very successful.

Once friendgirl made it known to Chase that she wanted to ride the toy by herself.
Chase dejectedly walked across the room and sat down.

His teacher asked him if he was okay.

Chase just shook his head and answered, "My heart is broken."

Sigh.

I had no idea that I would be dealing with broken hearts this soon.

I also simply have no idea where Chase gets his dramatic flair.

I have decided to blame it on Uncle Wendell for now since he does not read my blog and can not defend himself. (Plus, I miss him dearly and Chase misses him even more)

Meanwhile, I need to teach Chase to "let it go" just like Moses was always telling Pharoah to do.
